Macro Masala is built and operated by Pratik Juta (“we”, “us”). These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and us for your use of the Macro Masala app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Macro Masala is a calorie and nutrition tracker. It breaks composed dishes into their likely components and gives you an honest range for calories and macronutrients rather than a single exact number. You can log meals by voice, by photo, or by typing, record weigh-ins, and see your weekly trend.
Every number the app produces is an estimate. Food varies, portions vary, and recipes vary. The ranges are our best effort at being honest about that — they are not measurements and they are not exact.
Macro Masala is a general wellness and informational tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, nutritional, or health advice. Nothing in the app is a substitute for a doctor, a registered dietitian, or another qualified professional.
Do not use the app to diagnose, treat, or manage any medical condition. If you have or have had an eating disorder, are pregnant or nursing, or have a medical condition affected by diet, speak to a professional before making changes based on the app. You are responsible for your own health decisions.
You do not create an account to use Macro Masala. The app identifies your data by a random identifier stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. This means that if you delete the app or lose your device, we generally cannot recover your history, because we have no way to identify you.
Full access to Macro Masala requires a paid subscription. There is no free trial. We offer more than one plan — for example a weekly and an annual option; the plans, billing periods, and prices available to you are shown on the subscription screen before you confirm.
Subscriptions are sold as auto-renewable in-app purchases through Apple’s App Store. That means:
If a price changes, Apple handles notifying you and, where required, obtaining your consent before renewing. Refunds are handled by Apple under its standard policy — we cannot issue them directly. To request one, use Apple’s “Report a Problem” process.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Macro Masala on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.

The app, its design, its text, and the dish library and decomposition data behind it are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms give you no ownership of them. Your own logs and the foods you enter are yours; by using the app you allow us to store and process them to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We work hard to make Macro Masala accurate and useful, but we provide it “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. We do not warrant that the estimates are correct, that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet your goals.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the app’s estimates or your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Some places do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
We may update the app and these Terms. If we change the Terms in a significant way, we will update the date at the top and make the change visible in the app or on this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
You can stop using the app at any time and delete it. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or use the app in a way that is harmful or unlawful.
Because you get Macro Masala through Apple’s App Store, the following also apply:
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
